Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our handcrafted footwear.
How do I determine my correct size in Meermin shoes?
Our shoes are primarily listed in UK sizing. We recommend checking our detailed size guide on each product page, which includes conversions to US and EU scales, as well as specific last measurements to ensure the perfect fit.
What is the difference between Goodyear Welted and Handwelted construction?
Goodyear Welted construction uses a machine to stitch the welt to the upper and insole, while Handwelted construction involves a master artisan stitching the welt entirely by hand. Handwelting allows for a more flexible, contoured fit and is a hallmark of traditional bespoke shoemaking.
How long does shipping take for 'Made to Order' (MTO) items?
Made to Order items are handcrafted specifically for you. These typically take between 6 to 8 weeks to produce and ship. For 'In Stock' items, orders are usually processed within 2-3 business days.
What is your return policy for international orders?
We accept returns on unworn and unaltered items within 15 days of delivery. Please note that customers are responsible for return shipping costs and any applicable duties. Items must be returned in their original packaging with no visible wear on the soles.
Do you offer a resoling or repair service?
While we do not currently offer an in-house repair service, all Meermin shoes are Goodyear or Handwelted, meaning they are designed to be easily resoled by any competent local cobbler, extending the life of your footwear for years.
Which leather tanneries do you source from?
We take pride in sourcing the finest leathers from world-renowned tanneries, including Du Puy and D'Annonay in France for our box-calf, and Charles F. Stead in England for our premium suedes.
